Fireside Readings: A Student Connection Collection

Fireside Readings: A Student Connection Collection The collection of books located by the fireplace on the 3rd floor of the UTM Library hosts a wide range of popular fiction, graphic novels, cookbooks, non-fiction, and wellness books.  This collection represents and celebrates the student body’s unique experiences, voices, diversity, and wellness interests.
We are committed to representing our UTM student communities and would love to receive students’ ideas for titles not already included in this collection.  We especially welcome titles that encourage the joy of reading, as well as celebrate the diversity, inclusion, equity, and wellness of students.  The purchasing of the titles submitted by the UTM Library are based upon our collection policies, funds, and shelf space.

To ensure the materials bought for this collection not only represent and celebrate the diversity our students, but also support and acknowledge local communities and small businesses, we purchase as many items as possible from the Knowledge Bookstore, a Black-owned bookstore, and GoodMinds, an Indigenous-owned bookstore.
