Add a MyMedia Recording to Quercus

You can add a MyMedia recording to a Quercus Module or embed it in a Quercus Page.

Add a MyMedia Recording to a Quercus Module

 

1. Go to https://mymedia.library.utoronto.ca

2. Log in with your UTORID and password.

3. Click on the Share Media icon.

4. Copy the Permanent Play Link by clicking on the Copy button.

5. Go to your Quercus Course Shell.

6. Go to the Modules page.

7. Click on the ‘+’ symbol.

8. Select External URL from the drop down box.

9. Paste the MyMedia URL into the URL box and add a description to the Page Name (e.g., Lecture 1 (Duration 15 minutes)).  Click on the box next to Load in a new tab.  Then click on Add Item.

10. Publish the item so it is visible to students.  You may also drag and drop the item to the desired location in the module.

Embed a MyMedia Recording in a Quercus Page

1. Go to https://mymedia.library.utoronto.ca

2. Log in with your UTORID and password.

3. Click on the Share Media icon.

4. Copy the Permanent Play Link by clicking on the Copy button.

5. Go to your Quercus Course Shell and click on Page.

6. Click on the ‘+’ symbol.

7. Enter a name for the page (e.g., MyMedia Video Recordings).  Add text into the rich content editor and then select/highlight it with the cursor.

8. Click on the link button and select External Link.

9. Place the copied link from MyMedia into the Link box.  Then click Done.

10. You may also add the MyMedia Embed Code so that your recording plays directly from the page.  To do so, copy the Embed Code from MyMedia.

11. Go to rich text editor in Quercus and click on the Raw HTML symbol.

12. Paste the Embed Code in the rich text editor box.

13. Click Save.

14. Publish the page so that it will be visible.

15. The page may also be added to a module.  To do so, click on the ‘+’ symbol in the module

16. Select Page from the drop down box.

17. Select the item, and click Add Item.
