Identifiers and Impact: Using ORCiD and Your Research Impact

Researcher identifiers are a simple and convenient way to ensure your work is searchable, properly cited, and can help you analyse your research impact.  In this workshop, learn about what researcher identifiers are, the benefits of having one, and how having one can impact your current and future research.   Attendees will also be guided through the process of signing up for an ORCiD account. Scrape Instagram Data with Instagram-Scraper

Does your research require you to build an archive of Instagram data? In this workshop attendees will learn how to scrape Instagram posts with the Instagram-Scraper program in your command line interface without going through the tedious process of manually downloading posts. Attendees will also be guided through the process of cleaning up Instagram data once it’s downloaded. Introduction to the Unix Shell

The Unix shell is a powerful tool that allows people to do complex things with just a few keystrokes.  You can combine existing programs in different ways and automate repetitive tasks so you don’t need to type things over and over again.  This workshop will go over the basics of the Unix shell, starting with working with files and directories, using pipes and filters, and a little bit of shell scripting. FactSet Intermediate

This workshop is designed for students who have completed the FactSet Basics workshop or for students with some experience using FactSet. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in FactSet, including the Excel plug-in and templates.

Bloomberg Intermediate

This workshop is designed for students who have completed the Bloomberg Basics workshop or for students with some experience using Bloomberg. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in Bloomberg, including Bloomberg Intelligence.

Bloomberg Basics Section 2

This workshop will introduce students to the Bloomberg terminal. Students will learn how to access Bloomberg terminals remotely; create a Bloomberg account; navigate and search the terminal to find company information, including company financials, as well as analyst reports and business news. Students will also learn about how to get certified with Bloomberg Market Concepts.
