Bloomberg Basics

This workshop will introduce students to the Bloomberg terminal. Students will learn how to access Bloomberg terminals remotely; create a Bloomberg account; navigate and search the terminal to find company information, including company financials, as well as analyst reports and business news. Students will also learn about how to get certified with Bloomberg Market Concepts.

This workshop is designed for students who have completed the Bloomberg Basics workshop or for students with some experience using Bloomberg. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in Bloomberg, including Bloomberg Intelligence.

Research Data 101

Looking for research data for your assignments? Don't know what to do when you have some research data? We will cover effective strategies for finding research data and the best ways to save and visualize your data. Data citation tips will also be discussed in the workshop.

Journal of Forensic Sciences Style Citations Basics

You have to cite using the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) Style for your upcoming paper. Do not panic! After this session, you will be comfortable applying style basics, from in-text citation placement to formatting the most common bibliography entries.

Learning outcomes: 

  • locate the JFS Style guide and our online guides to the style
  • practice in-text citation placement
  • format a bibliography based on common reference types, including journal title abbreviation look-up

This workshop is designed for students who have completed the FactSet Basics workshop or for students with some experience using FactSet. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in FactSet, including the Excel plug-in and templates.

This workshop will introduce students to FactSet. Students will learn how to access FactSet and search the database to find company information, including company financials and filings, as well as to perform relative valuation using the Comps tool. Students will also learn about how to complete the FactSet certifications.
