History

The Li Koon Chun Finance Learning Centre opened its doors in August 2008 in the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre. Seeded with a gift from Dr. Ronald Fook Shiu Li in honour of his late father Li Koon Chun, the FLC was created in partnership with the University of Toronto Mississauga Library and the Department of Management. Additional funding support was provided by the Certified General Accountants of Ontario.

In September 2014, the FLC relocated to the Innovation Complex and broadened its mandate to support the learning, teaching, and research needs of all Institute for Management & Innovation undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Florence Family Bond Collection

The FLC is also home to the Florence Family Bond Collection, a collection of early twentieth-century bonds and notes from Germany which were generously donated in 2015 to the University of Toronto Mississauga Library by Department of Management Professor Louis Florence. A sample of the over 50 different bonds and notes that comprise this collection is displayed in the FLC.
