ABI/Inform Collection

Three databases make up this collection: ABI/Inform Global, ABI/Inform Dateline, and ABI/Inform Trade & Industry.  Includes scholarly and industry journal articles, dissertations, market and industry reports, and local and global news.  All three databases are hosted on the ProQuest platform.

Aftermarket Research (formerly Investext)

Aftermarket Research (formerly Investext) is a collection of analyst and research reports for companies, industries, financial products, indices, and subject areas such as ESG. 

Effective October 1st, 2025 Aftermarket Research is available through the LSEG Workspace platform. Access is granted through Rotman's Milt Harris Library for one week at a time; renewals can be requested. There are no exceptions to this.

Business Source Premier

Includes scholarly journal articles in all business disciplines, business magazine and news articles, and MarketLine company  and industry reports.  Business Source Premier is also the only U of T source for PDF versions of Harvard Business Review articles.

Canadian Business and Current Affairs (CBCA)

Includes articles from Canadian business periodicals, industry and trade journals and newsletters, and other news sources.

CEIC

Economic, industrial and financial time-series data for China at a national, provincial and city level.

CHASS Data Centre

Hosts multiple databases, including Fundata (mutual fund data) and various Statistics Canada products with current, historical, and time-series trade, economic and census data.

EconLit

Scholarly database on the Ebsco platform with journal articles, working papers, books and other economics literature. Covers both theoretical and applied economics.

Economist Intelligence Unit

Reports and updates that advise on and forecast business and industry conditions in 189 countries, selected industries, and country-specific credit and operational risk.  Also includes special reports on macroeconomic events, country affairs and industry-specific issues. Produced by the Economist Group, which also publishes The Economist magazine.

eMarketer pro

Covers digital marketing, social media, advertising, media, and e-commerce across multiple industries. Includes reports, statistics, and articles, as well as consumer, technology and media-focused forecasts and performance benchmark data.

EMIS (Emerging Markets Information Service)

Focuses on companies and industries in emerging markets but includes industry and macroeconomic reports for world and developed markets as well. Includes global market research reports from BIS, MarketLine, BuddeComm and other providers.

Factiva

Articles from the world's leading newspapers, magazines, industry & trade journals and newsletters, industry blogs and other news sources from Canada and around the globe. Includes basic company profiles.

Finaeon

Offers historical financial data, including stock prices and returns, bond yields, market indices, economic indicators, and exchange rates. There is US, Canadian, and international coverage depending on the dataset.

Frost and Sullivan

Market and technology research and analysis in the form of reports. Covers 15 industries / sectors and is global in scope.

Gartner

Offers reports and insights about technology products, services, and trends, and IT strategy and management. Includes Hype Cycle reports that track new technology adoption and Magic Quadrant reports that identify and evaluate technology companies within specific categories.

IBISWorld

Industry reports for traditional and emerging industries, with Canadian, US, and global coverage. Reports are large, frequently updated, and downloadable infographics and data.

Key Business Ratios

Industry benchmarking data, comprising 14 business ratios for public and private companies in over 800 lines of business. 

Knotia.ca

CPA Canada platform hosting selected accounting, auditing and tax databases and products. Includes the CPA Standards and Guidance Collection, IFRS, The Accountant’s Handbook of Fraud Prevention and Detection, and the Professional Engagement Guide (for audit).

Marketresearch.com Academic

Market research reports from various providers, including Kalorama (healthcare and life sciences), Freedonia (manufacturing and other industries), Packaged Facts (consumer packaged goods and consumer trends), and Simba (publishing and media). 

Mergent Archives

Historical annual reports and associated filings for Canadian, US and international public companies. Content is fully searchable and annual reports are available as full-colour PDFs. Also includes digitized versions of historical company directories and stock manuals.

Mergent Intellect

A directory of worldwide public and private company business information such as size, location, industry, competitors, sales, executive contacts, news and releases. Public company profiles include annual reports and securities filings. The platform includes First Research industry reports as well as US consumer segmentation data.

Mintel

Provides data-driven insights and analysis on consumer trends, industries, and markets, offering research reports, competitor intelligence, and customer intelligence across various sectors.

NexisUni (formerly LexisNexis Academic)

Offers news, legal and business information. The Company Dossier feature pulls together profiles, news, deals and other information about public and private Canadian, US and international companies, both public and private and supports company list creation. Also includes industry reports.

OECD iLibrary

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development's online library for books, papers and statistics.

Oxford Bibliographies Online - Management

A collection of 200+ annotated bibliographies for a broad range of management topics. Bibliographies are updated regularly and highlight important resources for each topic - overviews and literature reviews, key theoretical readings, important research and practitioner work, and critiques.

Passport GMID

Also known as Euromonitor. Offers reports, briefings, and statistics, for consumer-facing industries. Includes market share statistics by brand and company, and consumer demographics at a country level.

Pitchbook

Pitchbook is a venture capital, private equity and M&A database. Coverage includes start-ups, private companies, global markets, proprietary research, and analysis.

Users will need to create an account using their University of Toronto email address to access.

PsycINFO

Scholarly database on the Proquest platform with peer-reviewed journal articles covering all areas of psychology, the behavioural sciences, and other related disciplines, including industrial and organizational psychology.

Risk.net

News and analysis covering risk management, derivatives, buy-side investing and financial regulation. Includes: Journal of Financial Market Infrastructures, Journal of Computational Finance, Journal of Investment Strategies, and others.

Sage Business Cases

A collection of full-text business cases from business schools and other providers for all business disciplines.  Faculty members may request a key from FLC staff for access to the associated teaching note(s).

Sage Research Methods

A collection of resources and tools to support research in the social sciences, from planning to analysis to reporting.  Includes guides to quantitative and qualitative research methods, sample cases and datasets, checklists, videos, and more.

SimplyAnalytics

An easy-to-use tool for mapping and analytics, using Canadian and US business, census, and demographic data. Lists of businesses can be downloaded into tables while other data can be exported as a map.

NOTE: Users must create a free account to save projects, or customize locations and maps.

Statista

Statistics and reports on companies, industries and a broad range of business topics. Data is sourced from public and proprietary sources and can be exported in different formats.

WRDS

Wharton Research Data Services platform hosts multiple databases and datasets for research in finance, economics and management. Includes Audit Analytics (audit intelligence), Execucomp (executive compensation) BoardEx (boards of directors), CRSP and Compustat (market data), and TAQ (intraday trading data).
