Software

Access to specialized software is available in-person at the FLC. A valid UTORid is required. See below for a list of all available software options or filter to one of our suggested categories. Some FLC software is available to download for free, search software descriptions for details.
 
When the FLC is closed, you can access FLC workstations and software remotely using Parallels RAS Secure Remote Desktop. All FLC software, with the exception of Bloomberg, can be accessed remotely when the FLC is closed.
 
UTM’s I&ITS cloud-hosted platform, Parallels RAS Virtualized Applications, provides continuous access to a variety of software, including some from the FLC.
Description

@RISK

Part of the DecisionTools Suite, @RISK is an add-in to Microsoft Excel that allows users to model risk using the Monte Carlo Simulation.

Installed on all FLC workstations.

Alteryx Designer

A data analysis and processing application with a user-friendly interface that does not require SQL code or custom scripts.

Installed on all FLC workstations.

Maple

Math software for analyzing, exploring, visualizing, and solving mathematical problems.

NVivo 12

A qualitative data analysis application that collects, organizes, analyzes and visualizes test, audio, video and image data.

Installed on all FLC workstations and available remotely through Virtualized Apps via UTM I&ITS Parallels Client.

PowerBI Desktop

A Microsoft business analytics and data visualization application used for modelling, visualizing and reporting data.

Installed on all FLC workstations.

R

A programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics.

Installed on all FLC workstations and available remotely through Virtualized Apps via UTM I&ITS Parallels Client.

R Studio

A free, open-source integrated development environment for R language that includes tools for plotting, viewing history, debugging, and managing your workspace.

SPSS 28

A widely used statistical software platform for analyzing data with advanced statistical procedures, and which supports Python and R code.

Stata IC 15

Statistical software used for data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization.

Installed on all FLC workstations and available remotely through Virtualized Apps via UTM I&ITS Parallels Client. 

Tableau Desktop

A platform for creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations.

Installed on all FLC workstations.
